From the town of Alto del Carmen you can penetrate an unexplored area of multicolored hills, historic trails and plantings of grapes and olives.
Many of those seeking the impressive end desert in northern Chile travel directly from Santiago to the lunar landscapes wild Norte Grande and San Pedro de Atacama with which are completely lost the charms of the so called "Norte Chico, famous for the Pisco and astronomical observatories .
But a new red tourist routes could change all that, through a path through the Huasco Valley from Alto del Carmen to the southeast, 41 km from the city of Vallenar , where the hills of colors and grape and olive plantations are the tonic.
